Best welding machine in Sri Lanka: MMA or MIG?

Inverter welders are light, efficient and run on normal household supply. The main choice is between MMA (stick) and MIG.

What to look for

• MMA (stick) welders: simple, cheap to run, great outdoors.
• MIG welders: faster, cleaner welds on thin sheet.
• Check the amperage range against the electrode sizes you use.
• Duty cycle tells you how long it can weld before resting.
• Look for a cooling fan and overload protection.

Where it is used in Sri Lanka
